New York Dry Cleaners has been contributing tremendously in enhancing the Haitian Culture. New York Dry Cleaners has been involved in almost every event that has the potential to improve the positive image of the Haitian Community in Boston.
New York Dry Cleaners has been supporting the Haitian Flag Day and is the only business to sponsor the “Toussaint Louverture Scholarship”. New York Dry Cleaners was a major sponsor for the Haitian Movie Award, and the Boston International Dance.
New York Dry Cleaners has also established “Dr. Mario Pagenel Excellence Award” for Haitian individuals who achieved great success in their field. New York Dry Cleaners showed fair play by honoring another Haitian business “Le Foyer Bakery” for its 40th anniversary.
New York Dry Cleaners has collaborated with the Mayor’s office of Boston in promoting celebratory events for the community. New York Dry Cleaners has a special discount program and free delivery service for the elderly community.
New York Dry Cleaners has been supporting many nonprofit organizations in the Haitian community. The list includes but is not limited to Haitian American United (HAU), the Association of Haitian Women in Boston also known as AFAB, the Haitian Organization For the Advancement of Grand’Anse (HOFAGA), the Youth & Family Enrichment Services, (YOFES), and many Haitian churches of all denominations.
New York Dry Cleaners has also extended its generosity to the mother land Haiti, by donating garments to organizations helping those affected by hurricane Matthew. New York Dry Cleaners has also donated to churches and organizations that help Haitians living in “bateyes” in Dominican Republic. New York Dry Cleaners is a proud sponsor of Functional Literacy Ministry (FLM), and Univers-9. New York Dry Cleaners’ owner, Dr. Rodelaire Octavius is very active in the community with the unique ability to blend within different groups, churches and organizations while volunteering his time and skills.
