MY STORY
Nancy Jean-Baptiste,MSW, LCSW, is an entrepreneur, a social worker and a lover of life. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work. She grew up on the beautiful island of Haiti. When she was growing up, she had limited access to dolls of color. For the first ten years of her life, she was introduced to a doll of color just one time. It bothered her that she did not have an ethnic doll. She believes all young children should have the opportunity to play with dolls they can identify with both ethnically and culturally. This motivates her to promote dolls of color in her community and also around the world. She wants to empower children of color to embrace their beautiful skin tones and hair textures at an early age. She wants people to know that dolls of color are important and can be a tool used to boost self-confidence. Dolls of color should be made more widely available so everyone has a chance to enjoy and appreciate their beauty.
